Three-bed semi, stairs, laminate down and carpet up. Did the whole house and the car on one charge with plenty left, then stood it in the corner and walked off. The green light showed me a hallway I thought was clean.Claire B. · York
Life with Vekto Stick

Every room on one charge. Not half the house, then a wait for the battery. Then the car.

Grab it off the wall, whizz round the whole place, hang it back up. Here is what changes in the first week.

A woman in a bright hallway resting a hand on Vekto Stick as it stands on its own, stairs behind her
You actually hoover moreAt 3.2 kg it is light enough to carry up the stairs one-handed, and it lives on the wall by the door. There is no cord to fight and no plug to move from room to room. A quick whizz round gets done instead of put off.
No more cutting hair off the rollerThe V-shaped roller has comb teeth that push hair off the brush and into the bin as it spins. Long hair, dog hair, the lot. You never have to clean the brush.
You see what you were missingThe green LED strip on the floor head lights up the dust and the wisps of pet hair along the skirting board. A normal hoover misses them.
You empty it once a run, not every roomA 1.5-litre bin, nearly three times the size of a Dyson V8's. It drops open over the kitchen bin with one button. Your hands never touch the dust.

Same carpet. Two different rollers.

Suction

55 kPa of suction. The carpet, the laminate, the dog's corner.

The Vekto Stick floor head on a rug pulling up crumbs with its green light on

A 500-watt motor pulls 55 kPa of suction on Max. In plain English, it picks the bits up instead of pushing them round the floor. The crumbs under the high chair, the grit in the hall carpet and the mud off the car mats come up on the first pass. Not the third. Mid handles the carpets. Eco does the laminate and most of the house.

Three modes, chosen with a button on the body, and the screen tells you which one you are in.

Runtime, and it stands up

Up to an hour, upstairs and down. And it stands on its own.

Vekto Stick standing upright on its own in a bright hallway beside its wall dock with the tools hanging on it

The battery runs up to an hour on Eco. That is a three-bed semi with a hall, stairs and landing, then the car, with charge to spare. Then it charges on the wall dock in about four hours, with both tools hanging beside it. Leave it on the dock between cleans or not, as you like.

Stop halfway to answer the door and it stands where you leave it, balanced on its own head. No leaning it against the wall, and no drilling unless you want to. The wall dock is in the box if you do.

Anti-tangle roller

Hair goes in the bin, not around the brush.

Close-up of the Vekto Stick V-shaped anti-tangle roller, clean, with hair in the bin above

The roller is V-shaped with comb teeth built into the head. As it spins, the V pushes hair to the centre and the teeth strip it off and it is sucked straight up into the bin. Long hair, dog hair, cat hair, the thread off a rug. It ends up in the bin.

No scissors, no unpicking, no flipping it over on the kitchen floor on a Sunday.

Vekto Stick sweeping a dark hallway floor with its green LED strip lighting the dust ahead

Five green LEDs across the front of the head light the floor at a low angle. That is the angle that makes fine dust and pale pet hair show up against laminate or a skirting board. The first time you use it in a hallway you thought was clean is a small shock.

Under the bed, under the sofa, the dust balls along the skirting boards. It shows you what you missed, then picks it up.

A 1.5-litre bin

Empty it once for the whole house. And you never touch the dust.

Vekto Stick held over a kitchen bin with its large clear bin flipped open

Hold it over the kitchen bin, press the button, the bottom drops open and the dust falls out. Your hands never go near it. The bin holds 1.5 litres, nearly three times the size of a Dyson V8's. The whole house in a two-pet home is one empty, not three. Six filter stages and a washable filter keep 99.99% of the fine dust inside the machine. None of it blows back into the room.

The filter rinses under the tap. A second one is in the box. There are no filters to keep buying.

Handheld

Stairs, sofa, car. Click, and it is a handheld.

Vekto Stick in its handheld form with the sofa nozzle on a grey sofa

Pull the wand off and the body is a handheld with the same suction, so the stairs are a doddle, one step at a time. The crevice tool reaches down the side of the car seat and flips to a brush for the dashboard. The wide sofa nozzle does the cushions, the mattress and the dog bed. Both tools hang on the dock so they are there when you need them.

Every tool, the charging dock and a spare filter are in the box. The screen shows battery, mode and any alert.

How it works

The VectorClean™ system. From the floor to the bin, and nothing wraps on the way.

A cordless hoover comes down to three things. How hard it pulls, whether the hair gets past the brush, and how much fuss it is. Here is how Vekto Stick handles each one.

01
Pull it up

A 500 W motor pulls 55 kPa of suction at the head, enough to lift grit out of the carpet. The motorised roller brings the pile up on carpet and sweeps laminate, with the green LED showing you where the dust is.

02
Strip the hair

The V-shaped roller drives hair to the centre where comb teeth strip it off and it is sucked up. It goes into the bin as loose hair, not a rope around the brush.

03
Keep the dust in, with no fuss

Six filter stages hold 99.99% of fine dust in the machine. The 1.5-litre bin means one empty for the whole house. The battery runs up to an hour, upstairs and down in one go. And it stands up on its own wherever you stop.

Covered for two years, with 60 days to try it in your own home.

What to expect

From the first clean to a hoover you actually use

What the first month looks like in a typical home with pets, stairs and a mix of floors.

First cleanThe light shows what you missed

The hallway you thought was clean lights up with fine dust and pale hair. It is a small shock. Then it is gone.

Day 3The roller is still clean

You flip it over out of habit. Nothing wrapped. The hair is in the bin where it belongs.

Week 1The whole house on one charge

Every room, the stairs, the landing, the sofa and the car, and the battery is not flashing. It goes back on the wall.

Month 1The corded one goes under the stairs for good

You hoover more because it takes five minutes and the hoover is by the door. The big one has not been out since.

The question everyone asks

Is 60 minutes real, or another number from a lab?

You have read the reviews: "60 minutes" that turns out to be 20 with the head on. Here is the straight answer.

60 is Eco, with the head on

Up to 60 minutes is on Eco, the quiet mode, with the floor head attached, not the head-off number some brands quote. That is how most of a house gets done. Mid gives you about 35 minutes for carpets. Max is about 20 minutes and it is for the mess, not the whole house.

One charge still does the house

A three-bed semi with stairs and a landing is 25 to 40 minutes of hoovering. The point is finishing the house, not the number on the box.

And you are not fighting it

It stands up on its own when you stop. The bin holds a whole house. The dock charges it with the tools hanging beside it. The reasons people go back to the plug-in one are gone.

Still not sure?Use it as your only hoover for 60 days. If it does not do your whole home on one charge, send it back for a full refund.

A repair shop's view

A vacuum repair engineer explains why Vekto Stick works

Twenty years fixing cordless hoovers that packed up just out of warranty. This is the one he tells his customers to buy, so they do not have to come back.

Two things come through my door every week. A roller strangled with hair, and a cordless with a dead battery sealed inside it. The customer has to choose between a repair that costs half the price of the hoover and a new hoover. Vekto Stick stops the first one and makes the second one rare. The V-roller actually strips hair. I have tested it with a bag of my own dog's. And a 1.5-litre bin with a big washable filter means the motor is never fighting a blocked filter. No pulsing, no cutting out halfway round. That is why I tell people to buy it.

What it really costs

What a hoover you actually use really costs

Same goal: a clean house without a fight. Three very different bills.

Option 1The £330 to £500 name brand£330, then again at year 3

Great on day one. Then the hair wraps the roller and the little bin fills twice a clean. When it conks out just out of warranty, it is £65 a pop for a battery or the same again for a new one.

Option 2The £90 stick, twice a year£90 every six months

Twenty minutes on a charge on a good day and a roller that wraps on the first pass. No spares, and nobody to call when it packs up.

Option 3Vekto Stick£189.00 today

Proper suction, the whole house on one charge, a roller that does not wrap and a bin you empty once. It stands on its own and every tool is in the box. Covered for two years, with 60 days to try it at home. Delivered free and fast from our UK warehouse.

Stairs

Light enough to carry up one-handed and do each step as a handheld. The green light on the front shows crumbs along the edge of the carpet I'd been walking past for years. Wife noticed the stairs before I said anything.

Retriever house

Laminate downstairs, carpet up, one dog who moults like it's her job. Did the whole house on one charge with plenty left and I have flipped the head over ten times looking for hair. Nothing on it. My old one got the scissors every Sunday. Still a bit suspicious honestly.

Good, heavier than I expected

Pulls harder than the big name I paid double for and the bin holds a whole clean of the house. Three long-haired daughters and not one thread on the roller. It is a bit heavy held up high for the cobwebs, so the corded one keeps that job. Dock took ten minutes. Four stars for the weight.

Lives on the wall by the kitchen. I grab it three times a day. Under the high chair is thirty seconds. Emptying it over the bin without touching anything is the best part of my week right now.

Small flat, one cat

Didn't need a big hoover, needed one I'd use. Sofa with the little brush, floors on the low setting, charges on the shelf by the door. Quieter than my flatmate's.

Bought it for the car

Wanted something for the car and thought I'd get a proper hoover for the same money. Skinny tool gets down the side of the seats. Then I did the house on the same charge. The corded one's been under the stairs since May.

Out of the box

On the wall in ten minutes

Two screws for the mount, a click for the wand, a charge, and it is your hoover.

STEP 1Charge the battery

Hang it on the dock or plug the cable into the body. About four hours from empty. The screen shows the level.

STEP 2Click it together

Wand into the body, floor head onto the wand. The crevice tool and the sofa nozzle hang on the dock so they are always with it.

STEP 3Mount the dock by the door

Two screws, and the dock charges the stick and holds both tools. Or skip the drill: it stands on its own in the corner. A hoover you can see is a hoover you use.

What's in the box

Every tool in the box. Nothing to buy after.

Is it right for you?

Is Vekto Stick the obvious choice for you?

For people who want the whole house done in one go, and are done with hoovers that pack up just out of warranty.

Vekto Stick is built for you if

  • You want the whole house on one charge, then the car
  • You have a mix of laminate, tiles and carpet, and stairs
  • You have long hair, a dog or a cat, and you are done cutting hair off the roller
  • You want a bin you empty once for the whole house and a hoover that stands where you leave it

Choose something else if

  • Your whole home is thick, deep-pile shag carpet: a corded upright still wins there
  • You want a robot to do it while you are out
  • You need a wet-and-dry or a workshop vacuum
  • You want an app: this one has a screen and buttons, on purpose

If the first list sounds like your home, this is the hoover. And you have 60 days to try it at home.

Common questions

Still deciding if Vekto Stick fits your home?

Does 60 minutes mean 60 minutes?
On Eco with the floor head on, yes, up to 60. Mid is about 35 and Max about 20. A typical three-bed semi takes 25 to 40 minutes. So one charge does the house, upstairs and down, on Eco or Mid, which is what you use for most of it.
Will it really not tangle with long hair or dog hair?
The roller is V-shaped with comb teeth that strip hair off as it spins, and it is sucked into the bin. It is built for exactly this. People with retrievers and long hair in the house say they have never once touched the roller. If yours ever wraps in the first 60 days, send it back.
Is it powerful enough for carpet, or are all cordless hoovers weak?
Use Mid or Max on carpet, and the motorised head brings the pile up and pulls the grit out from underneath. It is not the underpowered cordless you have read about. Very deep shag pile can stall any cordless head, so you know that before you buy.
How big is the bin, and is it messy to empty?
1.5 litres, about three times the size of a Dyson V8's. The whole house in a two-pet home is one empty. It opens from the bottom with one button over the kitchen bin, without your hands going near the dust.
Never heard of Vekto. If I buy cheap, will I buy twice?
Fair question, and it is why the warranty is two years, not one. The motor, head and every tool are covered, and spares are stocked for five years. You also have 60 days to send it back for every penny. It is delivered from our UK warehouse, and if we ever cannot supply a part, we replace the machine.
Does it stand up on its own?
Yes. Stop anywhere and it balances on its own floor head. The wall dock in the box charges it and holds both tools. You do not have to drill anything to live with it. Charge it on the dock or by the cable into the body, whichever suits your cupboard.
What if it breaks, or the battery goes, in a few years?
Send us a message and you get it repaired or replaced, free. The 2-year guarantee covers the motor, the head and every tool, counted from the day yours arrives. If the battery fades below 80% of its run time in the first two years, we send you a new one free. No £65-a-pop battery bill just out of warranty. You get it before you send the old one back. Filters, heads and tools stay in stock for five years. If we ever cannot supply a part, we replace the machine.
